Area hills

Furore is one of the most remarkable spots along the Amalfi Coast, a quaint village perched between sky and sea, preserving its genuine spirit. Far removed from mass tourism, it offers visitors glimpses of extraordinary beauty, paths winding through vineyards, and silences infused with the scent of saltwater and Mediterranean scrub. The famous Furore Fjord is its emblem: a deep inlet carved by the sea between towering rock walls, featuring a tiny fishing village and a picturesque bridge overlooking the bay. It is one of the most photographed locations on the coast, where the water displays shades of green and turquoise. For those who enjoy hiking, the Path of the Gods begins in nearby Agerola and leads through breathtaking landscapes to Positano. Other trails meander through terraced fields and ancient mule tracks connecting the coastal villages. Not far away are Amalfi, with its majestic cathedral and charming cobblestone streets; Ravello, elegant and scenic with the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone; and Positano, with its pastel-colored houses perched on the cliffs. The area is also renowned for its culinary tradition: the Marisa Cuomo Winery, perched on the slopes of Furore, produces wines celebrated worldwide due to its unique microclimate and the dedication of the family that runs it. Local restaurants offer seafood dishes, fresh pasta, fragrant lemons, and traditional desserts like the lemon delight. Furore and its coastline invite you to slow down, breathe, and be enchanted by a landscape that, as Alfonso Gatto wrote, “has the rosy allure of hills descending to the sea in islands, villas, and next to churches.”
